In the 18th century, Mary Toft from England convinced her doctor she gave birth to rabbits. Her doctor wrote to the King who sent a doctor who saw her give birth to her 15th rabbit. He took some rabbits back to be examined. The King then sent a surgeon who wasn’t convinced. And she started to give birth to other things. Then a man was caught sneaking rabbits into her room. She manually inserted the dead rabbits and then allowed them to be removed. She went to prison and the King’s doctor was fired.
