In Australia during the 30s, a farmer played the flute for their pet lyrebird. The bird would sing songs that the flute player played. The bird was released into a nearby forest.

Thirty years later a park ranger heard a lyrebird singing the flute songs, specifically “The Keel Row” and “Mosquito’s Dance.” The flute songs had become part of the local lyrebird songbook.
